I like a soft, almost feathery bed. My Husband likes a firm, almost like laying on boards bed. You can see why we would butt heads on choice of mattress. Most of the time I get my way and get a nice soft mattress, but I have had to compromise for him as well. The thing is, a soft bed hurts his back while a hard bed hurts mine. It's a rock and a hard place situation! This is where the Sleep Number bed comes into play, I can adjust my side of the bed to my liking, and he can adjust his side of the bed to his liking. We tested this in the Sleep Number store, and we fell in love with this feature! It is truly the best of both worlds! You can adjust your bed to YOUR number, and you can change your number, you can be consistent, whatever your needs are the bed can be adjusted to fit them!
The only negative for me and this will not be a negative for everyone, but the mattress does exceed my available budget. I should add, however that my budget is small. Three teenagers will severely limit many things, and sadly for me this is one of them. The cost is a bit more than you might pay for say, a pillow-top mattress, but it would be worth it. Consider it an investment for your back, or whatever else may ail you as a result of how you sleep, or what you sleep on. Since visiting the store, I have begun saving to purchase a sleep number bed for my home. After Christmas I expect to amp up the amount of money I am putting into savings, so I can get my new bed!
